Kaduna polytechnic as a large polytechnic in Nigeria is facing a challenge of insufficient school buses to convey the students from one campus to another.The institution has four campus in Kaduna,with a large number of students in different department.
In an effort to convey the students to their various campus for lectures in the morning or afternoon,you will find out that large number of students are seriously struggling to enter the bus due to inadequate buses,student queue and squeeze themselves to manage in the bus,still some student don’t get space to enter into the bus and the last option for them is to take public transport to their various campus for lectures.
Looking at the number of students,the school bus available now,cannot convey them and some of the students complain of the increment of ticket fee from 100naira to 150naira,but the school management did not increase the number of buses for the students.
According to Stephen Zainab,HND2 student of mass communication department,Sabon Tasha campus,said that the number of school bus are very few looking at the number of students that intend to use school bus service on daily basis,he added that student face challenge of dragging themselves into the bus which led to tearing of clothes or been injured.Therefore he advice the school management to make an effort in providing more buses for the students so that they can use bus service without any stress.
In conclusion,it is very important for the school management to look into the situation and provide solution,in order to have a very good transportation system in the institution
